Forest Hill 12.12.84
Canterbury failed to carry the momentum from an excellent Round 2 performance into their home clash with Forest Hill, on a day where the Cobras paid tribute to the ANZACs prior to the match.
Vietnam veteran John Howard gave a stirring speech before the match to the senior squad, though the address failed to get the Cobras off to the required start, trailing by four goals at the first break.
Despite having more scoring shots than the Zebras over four quarters, the Cobra performance was marked by inaccurate kicking and the inability to convert half chances into scoreboard pressure. 2 goals 6 behinds, and 3 goals 5 behinds in the second and third quarters respectively left the Cobras with too much to do in the last as Forest Hill kept the Cobras just out of reach.
Matt Augustinus, Levi King and Ben Peel provided pace and finesse throughout the day, with Al MacDonald continuing to be rock solid in defense, and providing drive into attack.
Goal Kickers: J. Price 2, J. Harding, T. Beare, J. Rowe, B. Isles, T. Gread, S. Murphy.
Best Players: M. Augustinus, L. King, A. MacDonald, C. McCasker, B. Peel, R. Walmsley.

A tenacious performance from the reserve team, who showed patches of form, but are yet to piece it together for the four quarters in season 2012. Justin Perillo was everywhere for the Cobras, kicking four goals, with Marcus Cassidy and Clayton Skate pushing for senior selection with great run and carry through the middle.
Goal Kickers: J. Perillo 4, L. MacFarlane 2, H. Giles.
Best Players: T. Pearce, M. Cassidy, C. Skate, J. Perillo, M. Kocurek, A. Mack.
