A look ahead to season 2013

The Canterbury Football club is excited to announce the appointment of new senior coach Angelo Lamanna for season 2013. Angelo comes to Canterbury with First Division Coaching experience and is looking forward to the challenge of improving the clubs fortunes. A “Meet the coach” evening will be held at the club rooms on Friday November 9th, starting at 7:00pm.

The club has also appointed a new President in Maurie Carroll who is a life member of the club and former President, who has introduced a motto for season 2013 of “We Mean Business” and has brought on a number of new people to the club with Football and Business experience.

The club always welcomes new players, any interested players should contact our new Director of Football, Mick Harper on 0410 629 442. Current and future players should note that pre-season will commence on Wednesday 14th November at 6pm.

Cobras’ Day Out at Dalyston

The Cobras enjoyed a great day out at Dalyston Football Club (members of the Alberton Football League), both on and off the pitch, with their first practice match of the 2012 season.

Some great early signs from some of the Cobras’ new signings in  Troy Gread, Sam Murphy, Jeremy Gillen, James Lomax, and Tim Beare, with the match going down to the final siren. The return of a number of favourites including Cam McCasker was also a highlight of the road trip.

The day was especially enjoyable for President Jon Wilson, Dalyston full back and now former player and President of Canterbury FC. We’re looking forward to a match early next year, and wish Dalyston all the best for the season ahead.

Cobras vs Redlegs 17th March – Practice Match

The Dandenong Redlegs hosted the Cobras for a pre-season hit-out, with both sides recorded comfortable wins. In fairly warm conditions the Cobras got some more miles in the legs, ahead of the Round 1 clash against Park Orchards on April 14th.

With the new season getting closer to kick-off, and practice matches locked in throughout March, we’ve secured training bases closer to home. This should make it a lot easier for latecomers to show for a pre-season run-out. New faces are also welcome on Mondays and Wednesdays at the following locations:
