Canterbury retain the Cobra Cup at Sandown
Canterbury retained the Cobra Cup away from home at Sandown on March 24th, with a comfortable 16-point win in the Cobras 3rd pre-season practice match in the seniors. The reserve team also won their fixture earlier in the day.
With 13 scoring shots to zero in the opening quarter, the game should have been well over before half time. There were some positive signs throughout the day from Canterbury’s squad, with new players gelling into the style of play senior coach Tony Rowe is looking for in 2012. Returning players such as Marcus Cassidy also controlled the game around the ground.
Thanks to Sandown for hosting the Cobra Cup – we hope your season ahead is a successful one.
